Our instructors take pride in being able to educate others in the ways of safe carry of handguns. We believe that safety is paramount and to Always have the tides flow in our favor.
Classes start at $200 with private classes can be hosted at your preferred location for an additional fee (location dependent).
Add 2 hours of additional private instruction for a total of $300 or 2 hours of group instruction for $250

Our Mod 1 Professionals Course is much more involved than Mod 0 and goes in-depth with more rigorous curriculum to reflect the responsibility you hold as a true pro. Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a CCW course? Can’t I just use my license from another state?
Yes, the HGP is the Maryland-state equivalent of a CCW course. Maryland does not currently honor or recognize any permits from any state other than MD itself. Other states do recognize the MD permit and we recommend checking those state laws to confirm if that is the case
Do I need a Handgun Qualification License to take this course?
No, you do not need to take an HQL course or an HQL itself to take this course; we recognize that many legal gun owners currently own a pistol and have no current interest to own or get an HQL. If you do not have a personally owned handgun, you may rent one of our handguns for the duration of the live fire and instruction for a small $25 fee.
How long is the HQL class? If it’s too long, can we split up the course?
The course is 16 hours with both classroom and live fire range time. We know the course is quite time non-permissive for those with busy schedules so we do offer the ability to split the class up between multiple days so that we can get you trained despite your busy life!
Is it lawful for a medical cannabis patient or a personal user of cannabis to own or possess a firearm?
The Federal Gun Control Act, 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(3), prohibits any person who is an "unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance (as defined in section 102 of the Controlled Substances Act (21 U.S.C. 802))" from shipping, transporting, receiving or possessing firearms or ammunition. Marijuana is listed in the Controlled Substances Act as a Schedule I controlled substance, and there are no exceptions in Federal law for marijuana purportedly used for medicinal purposes, even if such use is sanctioned by State law.*
Due to this, you will not be able to take this course unless you have quit the use of cannabis and cannabis products for one year. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out.
